SHIRE OF GNOWANGERUP PARTNERS WITH LIVINGSTON MEDICAL
The Shire of Gnowangerup is pleased to announce a new partnership with Livingston Medical, owned by Dr. Michael Livingston, to deliver healthcare services within the community.
Key Information for residents:
- Partnership details: The Shire of Gnowangerup has engaged Livingston Medical to provide comprehensive medical services to residents in our Shire. Livingston Medical currently operates in 10 regional locations, including neighbouring towns Kojonup and Jerramungup.
- Doctor Services: the Doctor provided by Livingston Medical will reside in Gnowangerup, ensuring consistent availability of doctor services within the community.
- Service Commencement: Medical services under the new arrangement will commence on July 15th, For the first week, services will be conducted via Telehealth, however beginning July 22nd, appointments will be conducted in person.
- Contract Length: The contract between the Shire and Livingston Medical spans five years, with provisions for extension up to an additional three years.
- Operational Hours: The medical practice will operate a minimum of five days per week, seven hours per day, ensuring accessibility for all community members within our Shire.
- Locum Arrangements: To maintain uninterrupted services, any absence of the resident doctor exceeding five days will prompt Livingston Medical to engage a qualified locum.
- Emergency and Inpatient Care: Provision of emergency medical services, inpatient care, and Mallee Springs resident care at the Gnowangerup District Hospital will continue.
Shire President, Kate O’Keeffe has expressed her optimism about the partnership. "We are delighted to enter into this partnership with Livingston Medical. The signed contract represents a significant step forward in ensuring our community has reliable access to high-quality healthcare services like they’ve been used to.
