The Shire of Gnowangerup would like to present Dandjoo Day a day of celebrations and recognition of all your hard work and effort to making our community a great place to live.
Dandjoo is a Noongar word that means "together" and on the 21st of March we will celebrate our first Dandjoo day sundowner.
A free community gathering to ‘Celebrate our Community’ which will be held at Borden Pavilion this year with the intention for each community to take turn to host year about.
As part of the Shire’s Integrated strategic plan, we have a community priority to support local volunteer organisations through initiatives that reduce volunteer fatigue and strengthen their resilience was identified. The Shire wants all our volunteers to feel appreciated and supported.
This year and ongoing we will be awarding the following annual awards:
Community Citizen of the Year
Community Group or Event of the Year
Senior Citizen of the Year (65 and older)
Young Citizen of the Year (25 and Younger)
