Reduction of Councillors (Elected Members) – Voluntary Pathway for Local Government Reform

- Change of date and time of consultation report being presented to Council -

In November 2022 the Shire of Gnowangerup encouraged ratepayers and residents to submit feedback on Council’s decision to reduce voluntary the number of Elected Members from nine to seven over two election cycles. This consultation period closed on Thursday 5 January 2023.

A report will be presented to Council based on submissions received with the outcome then being provided to the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries.

Please be advised that this report will be now presented to Council at a Special Meeting on Wednesday, 25 January 2023, commencing at 5:00pm and not on Wednesday 1 February 2023 as previously advised.
