GREAT SOUTHERN TO GET FIVE NEW TOWERS IN MOBILE BLACK SPOT PROGRAM

Five new mobile phone towers will be built in the Great Southern in the fourth round of the Federal Mobile Black Spot program.

The initiative will deliver 180 new base stations across the country, including 3G/4G macrocell base stations in Darkan, Pingelly, Narrikup, Mettler, Cheynes Beach and one on Gnowangerup Jerramungup Road.

Federal MP Rick Wilson says it's a great result for O'Connor.

"We had the highest number of mobile phone towers across Australia I believe in this round and we continue to work to fill in the black spots and that's great news for my electorate and great news for people along the south coast," he said.
