Special Council Meetings are held as required. These will also be advertised.
Public Question Time – How To Ask A Question
The Local Government Act 1995 provides for a formal question time during every ordinary meeting of the Council.
Members of the public can use this opportunity to ask a question about any issue relating to the business of the Shire. If questions cannot be readily answered during the meeting, the Council will take the question on notice and will respond by letter. The response to the question will also be included in the agenda and minutes of the next Council Meeting.
Questions are not to be in the form of a statement or preamble.
The Shire President may nominate a Member or Officer to answer the question or determine that any complex question requiring research be answered in writing.
No debate or discussion is allowed to take place on any question or answer.
