INTER LIBRARY LOANS - CHANGES

26/7/2018

Gnowangerup and Ongerup Library patrons please be advised of the upcoming changes to requesting and ordering of items from other libraries.

From the 1st of September 2018, as a result of a joint review between the State Library of Western Australia and representatives from the Public Libraries WA Group (PLWA), what can be requested via the Public Libraries Inter Library Loans will change. Due to these current restrictions, the following items cannot be requested on inter-library loan:

  • No items less than twelve months old  both fiction and non-fiction
  • No junior fiction or YA items – some exceptions for YA graphic novels over 12 months old
  • No Audiobooks or DVDs

The joint working group has included some exceptions for people with special needs including disabilities and culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds (CALD). There is also no limit on the number of requests that can be made. The working group will review the restrictions again in 12 months.

MY HEALTH RECORD

MY HEALTH RECORD

30/4/2018

What is My Health Record?

By the end of 2018 every Australian will have a digital My Health Record, unless they actively choose not to. Having a My Health Record means that a summary of a person’s important health information like allergies, current conditions and treatments, medication details, pathology reports or diagnostic imaging reports can be digitally and securely stored in one place.

Healthcare providers like doctors, specialists, allied health providers and pharmacists can see these details online from anywhere at any time when they need to, such as in an accident or emergency. As more people use My Health Record, Australia’s national health system will become better connected. This will result in faster and more efficient care for all Australians and puts the patient in control of their record.

For more information or to create your own My Health Record online visit www.myhealthrecord.gov.au or call 1800 723 471. Follow WA Primary Health Alliance on Facebook via www.facebook.com/waphaphns to receive regular updates about what My Health Record can do for you:
