PARKS AND LEISURE AUSTRALIA AWARDS

The Gnowangerup Community Swimming Pool Project has shown how community of less than 1300 people was able to build an industry leading piece of community infrastructure. The new Pool has become an important part of the fabric of the community and creating opportunities for community connection in vibrant community space.

DISPOSITION OF PROPERTY

In accordance with Section 3.58 of the Local Government Act 1995, the Shire of Gnowangerup is considering disposal of fleet vehicle GN006 (2014 Mazda CX 9A) and is seeking expressions of interest for its purchase.

ROADS UPDATE

17/2/2017

The following roads remain closed;

Nightwell, Nightwell Sth, Maileup, Magitup, OMeehans, Mungerup Sth, Laurier, Laurier Sth, Coromup, Fosters, Hart, Bridgeman, Pinacle, Hinkley between Gnp townsite and Black Rd

The following are open to traffic under 4.5t; Old Ongerup, Highdenup, Toompup, Six Mile, Cowalellup, Boxwood Hills sth of Cowalellup Rd. These roads have significant damage so please use extreme caution.

Borden Bremer Bay road will be open from 6pm Friday 17th Feb. Please drive with extreme caution and obey all traffic signs.

 

All other roads are open but there is extensive damage across the Shires road network so please use extreme caution.

The Shire is continuing to assess roads and is working towards having all major roads and school bus routes open as soon as possible.

ANNUAL ELECTORS’ MEETING RESCHEDULED

 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT THE SHIRE OF GNOWANGERUP ANNUAL ELECTORS’ MEETING WILL BE HELD ON WEDNESDAY 29TH MARCH 2017, AT THE BORDEN SPORTING PAVILION, COMMENCING AT 7PM

 

Agenda:

a)      Receiving of Minutes of the Annual Electors’ Meeting, held 10 February 2016

b)      Shire President Presentation

c)      Receiving of the Annual Report for 2015/2016, including the Annual Financial Report

d)      Chief Executive Officer power point presentation on the 15/16 Financials and discussion of existing service levels

e)      General Business

f)       Public Question Time

Questions requiring research should be presented in writing to the Chief Executive Officer at least seven (7) days prior to the meeting date, in order to afford a fuller explanation on the night.

 

The 2015/2016 Annual Report  including the Annual Financial Report is available for viewing via the Council website: www.gnowangerup.wa.gov.au or by contacting the Shire office to obtain a copy (at no charge). Copies will also be made available at this meeting.

POSTPONED ANNUAL ELECTORS MEETING

10/2/2017
Due to the current rain event, the Shire of Gnowangerup Annual Electors Meeting which was due to be held at the Borden Pavilion at 7pm on 10 February, has been postponed. Many local creeks have been flooded, making roads impassable. A new date for the meeting, hopefully within the next fortnight will be advised on the shires website and facebook page and in electronic newsletters. We apologies for any inconvenience
